So what's "a safe direction" on an airplane?
On the other hand maybe we should ask another question - like why was the guy handling his firearm on the airplane while in flight?

Bye-bye Nighthawk
It appears that the F-117 Nighthawk is going into retirement. First entering combat over Panama in 1989 it has had a good run including the first and second gulf wars. Apparently the Airforce wants to focus on the new F-22 Raptor program. Hard to believe that it's obsolete. I still remember the first time the F-117s were publicly acknowledged. I thought they looked like some kind of space ship and that there was no way they could possibly fly.
Then I saw two take off one day. They were taxing down a runway parallel to the freeway. I was driving in a Honda CRX. What could I do? I had to punch the gas and "taxi" with them! I hit 102mph, the forward pilot looked over at me, and in an unbelievably short time they were a mile out and still accelerating. I almost crashed. Bet those two jet-heads were laughing their asses off. ;-)
Bye-bye little blackbird. You'll be missed...

Arm the Pilots Dammit!
Okay, it's been how long since we watched airplanes dive into buildings taking thousands of lives with them? It's been how long since America said she's come out of her slumber and realized the reality of terrorism?
We're still debating whether or not pilots (who are essentially flying fuel bombs) should have handguns in the cockpits of commercial airplanes. It's disgusting. Fortunately, there's at least a few people who are arguing for common sense.
