Recipe for a Massacre:

1. Collect 300 students and 1 professor
2. Separate right to self-defense
3. Place in tight enviornment with limited mobility
4. Add 1 lunatic with a weapon (gun, bomb, knife, chainsaw, mustard gas, gasoline, etc.)
   
5. Add pandemonium
   

Cook to boil for 5 minutes. Wait for police to cordone-off building, lock-down other buildings, get their shit together, and slowly work room-to-room.

Yields piles of dead bodies.

Serves no one.

It appears that in Great Britain there is a stolid mentality that waits for some mythical perfect State to create a utopia where all are safe from harm. This resulted in gun bans and disarming of law-abiding citizens. Now, the "gun culture" has become the "knife culture". Nobody ever stopped to consider that maybe the weapon was not the issue - maybe it's just culture (or human nature).

Look at how inane the discussions have become in Scotland and England. If all knives are banned then what next? Will the British press be decrying "brick culture" or "fist culture"?

No one wants to confront the reality that the world is a dangerous place, that bad people will always try to hurt good people, and that good people have a civil right to defend themselves. Until that is recognized, good people will continue to be easy prey for evil.
